"Dust" is the lead single for Ängie's sophemore album Heartburn, in collaboration with producer Tail Whip. It was released on November 22nd, 2019 along with its music video.
Background[]
Ängie first mentioned the song on September 7th, 2019 when she posted a setlist for a concert on her Instagram Stories.[1] The first performance of the song was made a day after, however it wasn't recorded. In the same month, Ängie also posted part of the lyrics on Instagram.[2]
A month later, Ängie announced the release of the song for November 2019 in an Instagram live-stream.[3]
On November 11th, Ängie posted a series of Instagram Stories talking about the song and announcing its release date. She revealed that the song was going to be on her debut album due to be released in 2020. This ended up not being the case, as the song is part of Heartburn, which was preceded by Not Pushing Daisies.
Theme[]
Ängie has revealed on Instagram Stories that the song is about a "bad romance".[4] In the verses, she talks about a love that is addictive, where she can't think about anything or anyone else. She feels good when she's with this person, but knows that they don't feel the same way about her.

- The music video for the song was shot on August 11th, 2019, and Ängie posted a series of photos of the behind the scenes on her Instagram.
- She also led people to believe that the video was for "Agnostic Dreams" using a picture from the music video with the name of this song on her profile picture.
- The video of the song is licensed as the name of "(on behalf of pussycat, rock n roll)", the same name as one of Ängie's favorite songs.[5]
